Atherosclerotic Vascular Diseases

Carotid Stenosis Screening and Diagnosis
Narrowing of the carotid artery can lead to cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), commonly known as stroke. Often asymptomatic, it must be detected through a physical examination and diagnosed using ultrasound.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening and Diagnosis
Localized enlargement or dilation of at least 150% of the abdominal aorta’s diameter. Sometimes discovered during abdominal palpation, an abdominal ultrasound can confirm the diagnosis and monitor the condition.

Peripheral Arterial Disease Diagnosis
Peripheral arterial disease is a blockage of the arteries carrying oxygenated blood from the heart to the legs. It may cause leg pain or fatigue following exertion. Peripheral arterial disease can be diagnosed at the clinic using an arterial Doppler ultrasound.
Skin Lesion Treatment
Skin lesion treatment involves the medical evaluation and removal or management of benign skin growths and lesions for both medical and cosmetic reasons. Common lesions include moles, skin tags, cysts, and other non-cancerous skin abnormalities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No, a referral is not necessary to book a consultation at our clinic. However, if you have recent test results or notes from your family doctor, please bring them with you.
Are varicose vein treatments covered by RAMQ/Private Health Insurance?
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients find the treatments very tolerable. Sclerotherapy involves small needles and tiny injections, so discomfort is usually mild and brief. Radiofrequency ablation and phlebectomy are performed using local anesthetic, similar to what dentists use to numb an area, so you should feel pressure or mild tugging rather than sharp pain. Everyone’s sensitivity is different, and we’ll make sure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout.
How soon can I return to work?
Patients can return to work the same day or following day, depending on the procedure. We encourage walking immediately after treatment to promote healthy circulation.
How long does an appointment take?
Will my varicose veins come back?
Treatments are designed to permanently close or remove the affected veins. However, venous disease can be progressive, so new veins may develop over time. We recommend periodic follow-ups.
